Born in Rome in 1972, Marco Barbon has been living and working in France since 2001.
 
After completing a Master’s degree in philosophy at the  Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD in the Aesthetics of Photography at EHESS in Paris, he embarked on his own  personal artistic research, from which two of his favourite subjects emerged: on one hand the temporality of the image and on the other the boundary zone between reality and dream, document and fiction. 
 
Author of the books Asmara Dream (Filigranes, 2009; re-edited in 2016), Cronotopie (Trans Photographic Press, 2010), Casablanca (Filigranes, 2011), Les pas perdus (Poursuite, 2014), Asmara (Be-Pôles, 2014), El Bahr (Filigranes, 2016) and The Interzone (Editions Clémentine de la Féronnière, 2017), his works are regularly exhibited in France and abroad, and are part of several important collections.
