The Clémentine de la Féronnière gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the second exhibition of Japanese artist Mikiya Takimoto. The exhibition highlights a selection of the artist’s recent works, drawn from the series Le Corbusier, Grain of Light, Snow Mountain, and Lumière.

Born in 1974 in Aichi, photographer and filmmaker Mikiya Takimoto is known for his contemplative approach to space and nature. His work is characterized by a deep reflection on the relationship between humans and their environment, resonating with the principle of mujo, which evokes the impermanence of all things. This principle underscores the idea that time, as we conceive it, is illusory. Takimoto's work, driven by this relationship to time, invites a serene exploration of solitude.

Takimoto’s work takes form in landscapes, both natural and urban, where the absence of man intensifies the sensory experience. His landscapes become a place for meditation, where photography transcends mere representation to become a vehicle for raw and profound emotion.

The exhibition brings together never-before-seen works from a photographic journey that spans all six continents. From the thoughtful architecture of Le Corbusier, to striking photographs of the sea taken from the top of a cliff in Indonesia in Grain of Light, to the majestic snowy peaks of Snow Mountain and the lush vegetation of Kyoto’s temples in Lumière, the exhibition offers a complete immersion into the unique world of Mikiya Takimoto.
