La lenteur des règnes: Juliette Agnel

15 January - 7 March 2026
Overview
The exhibition presents the work of photographer Juliette Agnel, whose practice explores the boundary between the visible and the invisible. Through her images, she questions the forces that run through matter—mineral, vegetal, or cosmic—and reveals their sensitive dimension. Rather than seeking to reproduce reality, the artist aims to uncover what inhabits it: energies, memories, and discreet presences.

From Sudanese necropolises to Greenland, via Martinique, Juliette Agnel captures the geological and vegetal power of landscapes and the ways in which humans are inscribed within them.
The series presented—Forêt-AncêtresDahomey SpiritIce CaveThe Child’s Hand—as well as an unpublished series featuring new images from a mineralogical collection, extend this exploration by showing how matter preserves the traces of time.

By bringing these bodies of work together, the exhibition reveals the coherence of an approach that questions our place within the living world. Juliette Agnel invites us to slow down, to listen to the vibrations of the world, and to recognize, in the most modest forms as well as in the vastest landscapes, the presence of an invisible force that runs through the earth and the cosmos.

On this occasion, Maison CF is publishing, with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels, the artist’s book Roches, which follows Juliette Agnel’s earlier publication Silex (Maison CF, 2022).
